When Should You Take Herbalife24 Rebuild Strength? Timing, How to Use & vs Formula 1

Take Herbalife24 Rebuild Strength within 30 minutes of finishing a strength, resistance or high-intensity session. Mix 5 level scoops (50g) with 250ml of water, shake well and drink. Each serving gives you 25g of dairy protein from whey and casein, plus BCAAs, L-glutamine, iron, vitamin C and B vitamins. It is a post-workout recovery shake, not a meal replacement, so on rest days you can skip it or use it as a high-protein snack.

When should you take Herbalife24 Rebuild Strength?

The short answer: straight after training. Herbalife's own directions say to mix Herbalife24 Rebuild Strength with water and enjoy it within 30 minutes after training. It is formulated for use after strength or resistance workouts, so think weights, circuits, CrossFit-style sessions, sprints or anything else where your muscles are doing hard, short bursts of work.

Why the rush? After a demanding session your muscles are primed to take up amino acids. Protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass, and getting it in soon after you finish makes the whole routine easier to stick to. Shake it in the changing room, drink it on the way home, done.

Is the "30-minute window" strict? Not really. A widely cited review in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (Aragon and Schoenfeld, 2013) found that the post-exercise window is wider than gym folklore suggests, and that your total daily protein matters more than the exact minute you drink your shake. Timing becomes more important if you trained on an empty stomach or your last meal was four to six hours earlier. So: aim for within 30 minutes because it is simple and it works, but do not panic if it is 45.

How do you use Herbalife24 Rebuild Strength?

The routine is easy once you have done it twice:

  1. Add 250ml of cold water to your shaker.
  2. Add 5 level scoops (50g) of Rebuild Strength powder.
  3. Shake well for 20 to 30 seconds and drink.

Herbalife formulates Rebuild Strength to be mixed with water, which keeps it lighter on the stomach right after training. You can use semi-skimmed milk if you prefer a creamier, higher-calorie shake, but check your daily intake if you are managing your weight.

One 1kg pouch of the Chocolate flavour gives you 20 servings. If you train hard three or four times a week, a pouch lasts roughly five to seven weeks. There is also a box of Rebuild Strength sachets (7 x 50g), handy for the gym bag or for trying the flavour before committing to a full pouch.

Note that Rebuild Strength uses its own 10g scoop, which is the same one used for Beta Heart. If you have lost yours, the Beta Heart / H24 Rebuild Strength scoop is sold separately.

What is in a serving of Rebuild Strength?

Per 50g serving, made with water, you get:

  • 25g protein from a blend of whey and casein. The ingredients list milk protein concentrate, whey protein isolate and calcium caseinate. Whey is absorbed quickly, casein more slowly, so Herbalife describes it as a sustained release of amino acids.
  • 18g carbohydrate (of which 17g sugars), mainly from fructose and sucrose, to help refuel after a hard session.
  • 190 kcal, with just 1.5g fat and 0.8g fibre.
  • Branched-chain amino acids: 2,367mg L-leucine, 1,410mg L-valine and 1,377mg L-isoleucine, plus 1,700mg L-glutamine.
  • Iron (6.3mg, 45% of the reference intake), which contributes to normal oxygen transport in the body and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and vitamin C (80mg, 100% RI), which contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
  • Vitamin E and B vitamins: thiamin, riboflavin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, biotin and pantothenic acid, each at 38% of the reference intake.

It is free from artificial colours, flavours and sweeteners. The product is also Informed Sport tested, meaning batches are screened for substances banned in sport. That matters if you compete in a tested sport, or simply want extra reassurance about what is in your pouch. Rebuild Strength contains milk and may contain soya and egg, so it is not suitable for vegans or anyone with a milk allergy.

For context, the British Nutrition Foundation notes that 20 to 25g of high-quality protein after exercise appears sufficient to maximise muscle protein synthesis, and that people doing strength training may need 1.2 to 2.0g of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. One serving of Rebuild Strength takes care of a good chunk of that in one go.

Herbalife Rebuild Strength vs Formula 1: which one do you need?

This is the most common mix-up, so let us be clear. Formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix is a meal replacement. It is designed to replace breakfast or lunch with a balanced mix of protein, fibre and 25 vitamins and minerals, and most people drink it as part of a weight-management plan. If you want to know how it works day to day, our guide on replacing breakfast with a Herbalife shake covers it.

Rebuild Strength is a sports recovery product. It has more protein per serving (25g versus roughly 17 to 18g in a Formula 1 shake made with milk), added amino acids, and a formulation built around what your body wants after resistance training. It is not meant to replace a meal.

Can you use both? Yes, and many people do: Formula 1 for breakfast, Rebuild Strength after the evening gym session. They do different jobs.

Rebuild Strength vs Protein Drink Mix: what is the difference?

Protein Drink Mix is Herbalife's everyday protein powder. It gives you 15g of protein per serving with water, and it doubles as a creamy base for your Formula 1 shake instead of milk. It is a good choice if you simply want more protein across the day, or a high-protein snack between meals.

Rebuild Strength is more specialised. It has more protein per serving (25g), a whey and casein blend, added BCAAs and L-glutamine, and a carbohydrate component to refuel. If your goal is recovery after strength training, Rebuild Strength is the better fit. If your goal is topping up protein at 3pm or making your morning shake creamier, Protein Drink Mix is more versatile and cheaper per serving.

Rebuild Strength vs Prolong Energy Gel: before, during or after?

Both belong to the Herbalife24 sports nutrition range, but they work at different points in your session, so this is not an either/or choice.

  • Rebuild Strength is for after training: 25g of protein plus carbohydrate to support recovery from weights, resistance work, sprints and HIIT.
  • Prolong Energy Gel is for during training. Each 45g sachet delivers 30g of carbohydrate (121 kcal) from maltodextrin and fructose in a 1:0.8 glucose-to-fructose ratio, with no protein and no fat. Herbalife's directions: one sachet per hour for sessions under 1.5 hours, two per hour for sessions of 1.5 to 2 hours, and no more than four a day. Consume it immediately once opened and keep drinking water throughout.

If you run, cycle, swim or play football for an hour or more, Prolong keeps carbohydrate coming in while you work, and Rebuild Strength takes care of protein once you stop. If you mostly lift for 45 to 60 minutes, you probably do not need a gel at all: a normal meal beforehand is enough, so go with Strength alone. Prolong is Informed Sport tested, vegan-friendly and gluten-free, and comes in Strawberry in a box of 10 sachets.

Can you take Rebuild Strength on rest days?

You can, but you do not have to. It is designed for post-workout use, so on days you do not train it works simply as a high-protein snack. If your rest-day protein intake from food is already solid, save the pouch for training days. If you struggle to hit your protein target, a serving mid-afternoon is a practical option.

Whatever you choose, remember that supplements work best alongside a balanced diet and a healthy, active lifestyle. The NHS recommends adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate activity a week plus strengthening exercises on two days, and that most protein should come from food such as beans, pulses, fish, eggs and lean meat.

FAQ

How soon after a workout should I take Herbalife24 Rebuild Strength?

Herbalife recommends within 30 minutes after training. Research suggests the window is wider than that, so do not worry if you are a little later, especially if you ate a protein-rich meal before training.

Can I mix Rebuild Strength with milk instead of water?

Yes. The directions say 250ml of water, which keeps it light and quick to absorb. Milk makes it creamier and adds calories and extra protein, so factor that into your daily intake.

Is Rebuild Strength a meal replacement?

No. It is a post-workout recovery shake. For a meal replacement, use Formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix.

How many servings are in the 1kg pouch?

Twenty servings of 50g (5 level scoops) each.

Is Herbalife24 Rebuild Strength suitable for vegans?

No. It is made with milk proteins and may contain soya and egg. For a plant-based option, look at the Vegan Protein Drink Mix.
